Join us at Westfield for Love Parks Week for another free Dr Bike event this July.

The Active Way will be at Westhill Recreation Ground on Saturday, 26th July, offering Dr Bike sessions, free balance bike drop-ins for kids, and adult e-bike drop-in tasters between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Here’s what to expect at our balance bike session

• Balance bike sessions for children 2.5 – 4 years
• Bikes and helmets are all provided
• A member of our Bikeability team will lead sessions encouraging your little ones to learn bike skills through play.
• Drop-in Session runs from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm with no sessions between 12:30 -1:00 pm

Here’s what to expect at our balance bike session

• E-bike taster sessions for adults 18+
• Bikes and helmets are all provided
• A member of our The Active Way team will induct you onto our e-bikes, which you can ride around the park
• Drop-in Session runs from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm with no sessions between 12:30 -1:00 pm

Here’s what to expect at our Dr Bike event:

Have one of our experienced bike mechanics provide a full safety check, make minor repairs, and identify any further work needed on your bike —all for FREE! To confirm your time slot with Dr. Bike, click the ‘Book Your Place Here’ button at the bottom of the page.

🚴‍♂️ Bring your bike to Westhill Recreation Ground at your selected time slot. Keep an eye out for The Active Way’s Flag 

🚴‍♂️  You’ll be greeted by a member of The Active Way team and our Dr Bike mechanic.

🚴‍♂️ The bike mechanic will perform a complete safety check on your bike and assess if any minor adjustments or repairs are needed.

🚴‍♂️ Once you’ve handed your bike over to our mechanic, you’re welcome to stay with us while the work is being done. A member of The Active Way team will be on hand to chat about our free cycling and walking activities.

🚴‍♂️ After your bike has been cared for, our mechanic will provide you with a full report explaining the work they’ve done and making recommendations for any further work your bike might need.

🚴‍♂️Repairs may include:

• Replacing inner tubes
• Adjusting or replacing inner brake cables and brake blocks
• Adjusting gear cables
• Adjusting handlebars and saddle
• Lubricating working parts of the bike
• Inflating tires

What Dr Bike Does NOT offer:

🚴‍♂️ Our Mechanics can not offer Dr Bike to e-bikes.

🚴‍♂️It’s important to note that Dr Bike is an opportunity for minor repair work; it is not a bike service and, therefore, does not include the following:

• Bike cleaning
• Replacement of inner and outer cables
• Replacement of spokes
• Servicing of disc brakes
• Servicing of suspension forks
• Servicing of tubeless tyres
• Servicing high-end part
